Building a Pub with Purpose
Digger’s has always focused on more than just food. It’s a place to gather, unwind, and enjoy a laid-back pub experience. From the start, the team has worked to create a space that feels welcoming for friends, families, and locals alike. Good service, honest food, and a fun atmosphere remain at the center of everything they do.
From Bartender to Owner
In the summer of 1994, Stephen Wirth began bartending at the original Digger O’Dell’s in Riverhead, NY. That job quickly turned into a life path. In 2005, he and his wife Chéri took over the space and relaunched it as Digger’s Ales N’ Eats. With years of hard work, strong leadership, and a loyal team, the restaurant became a favorite gathering place in the heart of the community.
The Heart of the Kitchen
Chef James Liszanckie leads the kitchen with a creative approach to Irish pub classics. The menu is built around familiar dishes with a twist, made using quality ingredients and prepared with care. The goal has always been to keep things simple, flavorful, and consistent. Every dish is made to reflect the high standards of the team behind it.
Food, Fun, and Community
The experience at Digger’s goes beyond meals. Sports on TV, live bands, and a wide selection of craft beer and cocktails bring energy to the space. It’s a local hangout where guests enjoy both casual lunches and weekend nights out. The atmosphere is lively, yet easygoing—perfect for everyday moments or special occasions.
